Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill is encouraged by reports that Barbados’ 4.1% economic growth for the first quarter of the year, is primarily due to the extraordinary performance of the tourism sector.
Addressing the media at the 3rd Regional Meeting of Directors and Heads of Maritime Administrations, Minister Gooding-Edghill said all Barbadians must be commended for the accomplishment.
He also revealed that legislation is on the way to regulate water sports activities in Barbados.
He expects to shortly lay before Parliament the Shipping Domestic Vessels Bill which aims to ensure that vessel-related and water sports activities are conducted in a safe, secure and sustainable manner.
