The Office of Reparations & Economic Enfranchisement, Division of Culture, has unveiled a monument honouring stalwarts of the St. Michael South Constituency.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight says that based at Jess-ame Avenue, Bayland, St. Michael, it is a tribute to men and women and who would have helped build the constituency.
National Hero Sir Garfield Sobers, Entertainer Edwin Yearwood, and deceased Veteran Bandleader Gwyneth Squires are some of the names inscribed on the monument.
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Representative for St. Michael South, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humprey, says the unveiling of the monument is a historical occasion for his constituency.
