Jamaica has recorded a 25 per cent decline in murders at the halfway mark of 2026, according to the latest crime statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

The data show that 275 murders were recorded up to July 5, compared with 362 during the corresponding period in 2025. Seven police divisions recorded increases in murders, while 12 divisions saw reductions.
