Ghetto Kumbé, a rising band featuring 3 talented musicians from the Colombian Caribbean coast, will be performing in Europe in October 2021. Ghetto Kumbé mix Colombian gaita, call-and-response vocals, and a wide range of hand drums and rhythms, along with electronics.
Their first single, ‘Vamo a Dale Duro’, brings attention to the unjust divide between the poor and the rich, the increasing prominence of dirty politicians, and the ethics of the capitalist system while encouraging people to stand up and fight for a dignified existence. The track appears in the band’s 2021 album Ghetto Kumbe.
Ghetto Kumbé is one of acts selected to perform at the influential WOMEX conference and showcase, which is attended by thousands of world music professionals.
