The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has presented four digital acuity charts, used for vision tests, to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The charts are to begin the screening process of youngsters starting school.

Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw says this is an important step in supporting children in achieving success in their academic lives.

According to her, the early detection of vision problems can lead to the prevention of learning loss and visual impairment.

She was addressing the presentation ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr. the Most Honourable Kenneth George says the donated digital acuity charts will be utilised at four polyclinics to screen thousands of children.
