Anglican Church not eliminating sacrament of confirmation

The Anglican Church of Barbados is making it clear it has not eliminated the sacrament of confirmation.

Bishop the Right Reverend Michael Maxwell sought to clear up the misconception during a service to mark the start of Synod 2024.

This follows a significant move last December, to allow all baptised Christians including children, to participate in the sacrament of communion.

Previously, only people who had been confirmed were allowed to take communion.

However, Bishop Maxwell says those baptised as adults will not require the sacrament of confirmation.
