BCEN wants consumer protection legislation amended

The Barbados Consumer Empowerment Network (BCEN) is advocating for amendments to be made to the island’s consumer protection legislation.

Executive Director, Maureen Holder says the legislation must be more suited with the times, noting recommendations have been made in this regard.

She outlined on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados the areas of the legislation that need updating.

Meanwhile, Director of BCEN, Mitchinson Beckles says he is focused on representing the interests of seniors as they too are consumers.

He says the organisation is there for Barbadians to turn to, to have their concerns addressed.
