Minister of Environment, National Beautification and the Blue and Green Economy Adrian ‘Medic’ Forde says those caught dumping illegally should be shamed publicly.
He was speaking during the prize-giving ceremony for the National Tree Planting Project Parish Home Garden Competition, at the National Botanical Gardens.
He says illegal dumping is a destructive act that damages the biodiversity and contributes to the pollution of Barbados’ green spaces.
Mr. Forde highlighted a recent video of a man disposing of old beds and mattresses making the rounds on social media.
He further calls on the public to be the watchdogs of society and become camera police to shame and blame those who continue to destroy Barbados.
