It was celebration time this morning at the Grantley Adams International Airport as the triumphant Barbados Under-17 team returned home from the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Championship in Trinidad and Tobago.
The SigniaGlobe Financial Inc. Barbados side retained the regional two-day title following another dominant performance and narrowly missed out on completing the double after rain forced their must-win 50-over match against the hosts to be abandoned.
Trinidad & Tobago finished on 20.2 points, Barbados were 2nd on 17.6, and Guyana third on 14.4 points.
Coaches Dexter Toppin and Nhamo Winn commended the players on their consistency.
Captain Joshua Dorne said the team spirit was vital to their success.
