A slow-moving tropical wave in the eastern Caribbean is expected to move near Jamaica late Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing an increase in showers and thunderstorms across the island.
Forecasters say central and western parishes are most likely to experience increased afternoon rainfall on Tuesday, with unsettled weather expected to continue into Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to reach 35°C in both Kingston and Montego Bay.
A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore waters, with easterly winds of 20 to 25 knots and wave heights of up to 2.5 metres. Marine conditions are expected to remain hazardous through at least Thursday.
