The Barbados Police Service complement has been boosted with the addition of over 50 new recruits.
The new officers were reminded by Police Commissioner, Richard Boyce that their journey has now begun as he encouraged them to be professional at all times.
The advice came during the 148th passing out parade at the Regional Police Training Centre.
Among the 51 officers are 22 women.
Commissioner Boyce says police officers have been making great sacrifices to make Barbados safe.
Chief Justice Leslie Haynes in his speech encouraged the new police officers to commit to self-improvement.
He says citizens must have confidence in the Police Service.
Police Constable 2451, Johnathan Peter, the leading recruit, expressed thanks to his family and his fellow coursemates for their support.
