One of Barbados’ renowned musicians Ricky Aimey has died.

He passed away at home on Monday night.

Aimey, a father of two, made a significant contribution to the entertainment landscape. He played with bands such as the Outfit, Coalishun, Colour Blind and Boogie Nights.

Some of his friends in the entertainment fraternity have reflected on his life and contribution to the industry.

Barbadian pianist, composer and academic Dr. Stefan Walcott says he was a stalwart in the spouge era, playing bass.

Musician and producer Randy Eastmond has described Aimey as a genius.
