Republic Bank launches new phase of social responsibility programme

Republic Bank Barbados has taken on new partners in phase five of its Power to Make A Difference (PMAD) social responsibility programme.

Eleven charities and organisations were officially welcomed to the PMAD family, during a ceremony at the Courtyard by Marrriott.

The programme, launched in Barbados in 2009, has been rolled out in every territory where Republic Bank has a presence.

This year’s theme is "Sustainability: Doing Less Harm and More Good".

General Manager of Retail, Sharon Zephirin says by partnering with Republic Bank, the new partners are given more than just funding.

Managing Director & CEO of Republic Bank Barbados, Anthony Clerk saluted the new partners, telling them their work has resulted in much needed solutions, opportunities and lifelines for vulnerable people and communities.

He says the work of the Bank for the year will reflect a more targetted sub theme, in the business of doing good.

Meanwhile, Minister of the Environment and National Beautification Adrian Forde says partnerships are important for achieving sustainable development and attaining the sustainable development goals.
