The government is facing push back from a local development organisation in its choice of agency to lead Jamaica’s post-Hurricane Melissa rebuilding in western parishes.

The St Elizabeth Homecoming Foundation is not confident that the newly established National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority, NaRRA, is the right pick for the job.

The Foundation believes the more established, Urban Development Corporation, UDC, should have been given the mandate.

Following his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of NaRRA on June 1, Ambassador Antony Anderson, said his focus was on the buildout of the agency, with work to commence on critical projects by the end of the year.
