Students vying for Junior Minister of Tourism title

This year’s Barbados Tourism Youth Congress will be held on July 3 at the Hilton Resort.

Today, an orientation session was held for students from seven secondary schools who will be vying for the title Junior Minister of Tourism for the period 2024-2025.

Programme Officer with the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI) Marsha Armstrong says the winner of the competition will represent the island at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s Regional Youth Congress scheduled to be held in the Cayman Islands in September.

Meanwhile, current Junior Minister of Tourism Jordan Greig of Harrison College, who won the competition in 2023, said he enjoyed performing the role over the past year.

He’s excited to see the new ideas and interests in tourism from this year’s competitors.
