The Jamaica Hi-5 Foundation, in partnership with the Jamaican Consulate Southeastern United States, is excited to announce the 6th annual Jamaica Hi-5 5K Run/Walk, set for Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the scenic Miramar Regional Park (16801 Miramar Parkway, Miramar). Jointly hosted by Consul General Oliver Mair and Mayor Wayne Messam, this highly anticipated event is a celebration of Jamaican culture, health, and community spirit.
Dubbed the “Reggae Run,” the event offers participants an unforgettable experience. Along the 5K course, runners and walkers will be energized by pulsating reggae music, with festivities culminating in a lively post-race celebration featuring delicious Jamaican cuisine, captivating music, live performances, and prizes for top finishers and teams.
“The Jamaica Hi5 Reggae Run is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of Jamaican culture and community spirit,” said Consul General Oliver Mair. “We invite everyone to join us for a day of fun, fitness, and fellowship.”
Festivities kick off at 7:00 a.m., with simultaneous events taking place in Orlando, FL; Houston, TX; and Phoenix, AZ. A virtual race option is also available, ensuring participants from anywhere can join in.
Proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk will support health clinics adopted by the Diaspora community of the Southern USA, located in St.James, Portland St. Catherine and St. Mary. These clinics are part of the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Adopt A Clinic (AAC) Program, which connects the Jamaican Diaspora and private sector with efforts to enhance access to primary healthcare across the island.
This year’s event is sponsored by Memorial Healthcare System, Grace Foods, the Jamaica Tourist Board, JN Money, and the City of Miramar.
