To reactivate the economic activity generated by the tourism sector, Gov. Pedro Pierluisi and Puerto Rico Tourism Co. (PRTC) Executive Director Carlos Mercado announced a multidisciplinary promotion and marketing campaign for internal tourism during the summer season under the brand “Voy Turisteando.”
The presentation of the promotional effort, dubbed “One Island, 78 Destinations,” was recently presented at the Coca-Cola Music Hall, T-Mobile District, to island mayors, municipal tourism directors, and members of the local tourism industry.
The campaign, which focuses on the diverse experiences offered throughout the 78 municipal destinations on the island, was designed to give the public visibility into the diversity of the attractions that distinguish Puerto Rico. The initiative seeks to stimulate the interest of exploring internal tourism, highlighting unique places and experiences across the island.
“The campaign highlights our countless natural beauties, celebrates our history and culture, and highlights the diverse tourist attractions we have in every corner of Puerto Rico,” Pierluisi said. “Our tourism industry is an economic development pillar that has great growth potential.”
The governor added that health and safety are a priority in all components of the local tourism offer. “I must congratulate our team for the impeccable implementation of the PRTC’s health and safety seal program that highlights compliance with prevention protocols against Covid-19. I am proud of the work they have done to ensure a safe and healthy environment for those we serve in our tourism sector,” the governor said.
